Overview
The Revo Carbon Air Scoop is designed to work in harmony with Revo software to unleash the maximum potential from your engine.
Flow testing of the OEM intake emphasised the restrictions in the system, giving the Revo engineers a clear indication of what needed improving. The stock front panel used to direct air to the airbox, the standard air filter and convolutions in the rear pipe from the airbox to turbo were found to be the main ‘choking points’ in the system.
The Revo system is a direct replacement kit and includes a beautiful carbon front panel, designed to direct cold air directly to the OEM airbox utilising an internal fin, along with the second feed of cold air into the engine bay to help keep ambient temperatures lower.
The Revo carbon front section integrates a direct cold air feed which is blanked off on the standard part, and also includes an internal fin that directs air towards the airbox. Designed to also aid in lowering ambient engine temperatures, the Revo engineering team have integrated a second air inlet to allow a direct cold air feed to the engine bay which on the OE version is on a flap relying on airflow to open it.
Manufactured using the highest quality materials, the Revo carbon front section directly replaces the standard plastic part. A matt carbon finish coupled with impressive performance benefits offers a product that delivers in form and function, looking great in the engine bay yet still performing above and beyond the OEM part.
The Revo system was tested on a flow bench to highlight the efficiency of the kit in allowing more air to reach the turbo, quickly and with less restriction. The main restriction in the system being the inlet and back hose, we tested the full Revo carbon intake with the Revo Carbon front scoop and then the OEM front section. Both systems reached a maximum of 650 CFM showing signiciant restriction removal. The Revo intake with the OEM front scoop however showed its restrcition throughout the entire flow range, with an increase in restriction of nearly 25% at 350CFM compared to the Revo carbon front scoop and an average of over 9% from start to finish. This difference allows the engine to make consistent power increases throughout the entire rev range when installing the Revo kit.
