2.0TSI GEN4 GPF


The Engine - This is the next generation of the 4-cylinder petrol engine developed by VWAG, designated EA888 evo4. Although based on the EA888, there are many aspects of the 2-liter turbocharged direct injection engine that have been modified to reduce emissions and produce even better performance. Changes include new injectors, an increase in injection pressure, and improvements to reduce internal friction. Improvements to emissions have been achieved by using larger gasoline particulate filters and catalytic converters, ensuring that the vehicles comply with the very latest emission standards. Offered with various power outputs and installed in many VWAG models, this engine is a significant improvement over its predecessor.

Our Revo Software - Following on from our immensely popular EA888 Evo Gen3 Performance software, we knew the EA888 Evo4 was going to be mighty, and it is! Our calibration doesn’t just provide a great dyno curve and peak power/torque figures but also delivers in feel; Revo Software gives a smooth yet responsive feel at low RPM/Throttle and then delivers substantial power at wide-open throttle throughout the whole rev range. Tested on the road and the track, a large part of our development is based on drive cycle and driver feedback. Only Revo Performance ECU Software maintains factory safety levels and additional driving features.

A note on TCU Software - Our Stage 1 / Stage 2 Software has been developed to run in harmony with the OEM gearbox calibration, and it is not a requirement for Revo engine Software. However, TCU tuning is planned for a future release to support those who want that additional refinement.

Only Revo operates a Global Development Programme through its network of over 400 Revo Authorised Dealers worldwide. Access to vehicles on this scale enables the calibration team to fine-tune products before release, testing products in a wide range of climates and conditions including altitude, fuel quality, humidity. This also allows Revo to test how Revo products perform in different driving scenarios and formed a vital part in the development of Performance ECU Software.

COLD START PROTECTION


For engine oil to work effectively and lubricate your engine it needs time to warm up. When you first start your car, the cold oil is at a higher viscosity and flows more slowly, limiting the protection it can give to engine components. The water coolant in these EA888 engines warms up very quickly, but the engine oil takes much longer to get up to optimal temperature. Cold Start Protection helps protect engine components by limiting maximum torque until the oil temperature reaches this optimum operating level.



TEMPERATURE PROTECTION


Revo Temperature Protection is an additional safety feature that reduces maximum torque as the oil temperature passes a set limit. Exhaust gas temperatures (EGT) are also monitored, adapting the operating conditions (Air Fuel Ratio) to ensure they stay within safe parameters. If EGT's reach a set upper limit, then power is automatically reduced until the engine returns to a safe operating temperature.

A combination of exhaust gas temperature (EGT) protection, coolant temperature protection, intake air temperature protection Oil temperature protection provide additional safety for your engine. Adjustment to the software impose RPM limits based on coolant temps and RPM limit if oil gets hot.



GAUGE RECONFIGURATION


The boost gauge on the virtual cockpit instrument cluster has been reconfigured to represent the increased performance and calibrated for the specific performance modes.



DRIVING AIDS


Left foot braking and unlocked top speed have been added to the Revo software. Allowing you to fully enjoy your vehicle to its full potential, something the driven demand.



EXHAUST OVERRUN


The exhaust overrun has been tastefully enhanced to provide sporty burbles whilst not being over the top. Enhanced overrun is affected by exhaust and state of tune.
